An Enchanted Town – Fredericksburg
Fredericksburg, originally founded by the early German settlers, is a famous town in Texas. Due to the town close tie to its German history and culture, German conversation can still be heard in the town today. The town is only an hour drive from San Antonio, which hosts an International Airport, which makes Fredericksburg a popular town for tourists. Several German fine dining restaurants and many nice boutique shops can be found throughout the town. Try to visit the town on weekends, as most of the major events and functions will take place on weekends.
Approx. 17 miles north of Fredericksburg, you would find the well known Enchanted Rock, an U.S. National Natural Landmark, which attracts many tourists, both local and out-of-state, to visit. With approx. 640 acres and 425 ft. above its surrounding terrain, Enchanted Rock is also a popular hiking place for the nearby residents.
