Montreal Biodome

Situated in the Olympic Park and right in front of Olympic Stadium, Montreal Biodome (Biodôme de Montréal in French), is one of the four facilities operated by Montréal Nature Museum. The other facilities are Montréal Insectarium, Montréal Botanical Garden and Montréal Planétarium. The building, originally built for 1976 Olympic Games as a velodrome, houses the replicas of four ecosystems found in America, which include:

• Tropical Forest – the south American rainforest
• Laurentian Forest – the North American wilderness
• St. Lawrence Marine Eco-system
• Polar area: Arctic and Antarctic.

Visitors are allowed to walk through the replicas of these exhibits. I found these exhibits quite educational and I learnt a lot about these eco-systems in my visit.
