Meiji Shrine (明治神宮 Meiji Jingū)
In a 170 acres’ forest park right next to Harajuku Station in Shibuya, you may find the famous landmark of Tokyo Meiji Jingu Shrine (明治神宮), which was dedicated to Emperor Meiji (明治天皇) (November 3, 1852 – July 30, 1912), and his wife, Empress Shōken (昭憲皇后,) (9 March 1849 – 9 April 1914), on November 1, 1920.
With more than 100,000 trees of approx. 400 different species, from all over Japan and overseas, Meiji Jingu is one of the most visited sites by the tourists. It is also a popular park for the locals to do their Sunday hiking too!
