Old City Hall (Dewan Bandaraya) Theatre, Dataran Merdeka, KL

This City Theatre (Panggung Bandaraya in Malay), formerly the old City Hall (Dewan Bandaraya) of Kuala Lumpur, was designed by the British architect Arthur Benison Hubback, who also designed the Jamek Mosque, in 1901. In 1992, City Theatre suffered a major fire which destroyed the entire interior of the theatre. The theatre, however, was quickly restored. Its Moorish exterior has been well preserved.

Today, an hour long musical show “MUD” is being performed twice each day, 3:00pm and 8:30pm, in this theatre. Through this musical show, audiences may learn about the historic background of Kuala Lumpur
