Masjid Jamek Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (Jamek Mosque)

Jamek Mosque, opened by Sultan Sir Alaeddin Sulaiman Shah in 1909, is one of the oldest mosques in Kuala Lumpur. Jamek Mosque, situated at the location where Gombak River merges with Klang River, can be accessed by the nearby LRT station Masjid Jamek.

Designed by the British architect Arthur Benison Hubback (13 April 1871 – 8 May 1948), the mosque has a Moorish, Indo-Saracenic architecture. The mosque is opened to the public. Visitors, however, need to comply with the mosque’s dress code before they are allowed to enter the site. Conservative robes and skirts will be provided to the visitors at the entrance, so they may comply with the dress code of the mosque.
