Traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore by Bus
Traveling from KL to Singapore by bus is quite easy. The whole trip takes approximately 5 hours. Though there are bus companies that would pick up their passengers from around the city of KL, the most convenient location to catch a bus to Singapore, in my opinion, is Bandar Tasik Selatan, often referred as Terminal Bersepadu Selation (TBS) . TBS is the main terminal for all the intercity bus transportation routes. It is also a major interchange for KTM Komuter, Ampang Line and KLIA Transit trains. By using the KL Rapid Transit system, you may have easy access to TBS and catch your bus trip to Melaka, Johor, Singapore and other neighbourhood cities.

As there are many companies providing bus transports to Singapore, your choice of time-slots and vehicles are numerous. You may purchase your bus ticket from, either one of the many ticket counters or one of the several automatic ticket machines. All the automatic ticket machines can only handle cash transactions.
The automatic ticket machines would allow you to select your destination, date of travel, departure time and the bus company of your choice. Once you have made your selections, it will show you the price of the ticket. After depositing your cash, a ticket will be issued to you. What if you don’t have the exact change for your ticket? Don’t worry…. the machine will handle the change for you. If you run into any problem with the machines, you may contact the staffs at the Customer Service Centre. I have found them very helpful and friendly.
While all buses to Singapore will stop by the Singapore CIQ, many buses will take you to various drop-off points in Singapore. Before you leave your bus for the immigration procedures at Johor CIQ and Singapore CIQ, make sure to take down your driver’s name and the license plate of your bus, so you would not get on the wrong bus after you have completed your immigration processes.
Many passengers would choose Singapore CIQ, at Woodland, as their final destination. From there they may catch bus route 950 to Woodland MRT station, so they may use MRT, a very efficient transportation system in Singapore, to reach their final destinations.
