(牛車水- Niu Che Shui) Chinatown, Singapore
Niu Che Shui (牛車水) is the part of town where the early Chinese immigrants settled in Singapore. Today, being the largest ethnic group in Singapore, Chinese can be seen any part of the city. Though Niu Che Shui has gone thru a huge transformation in the past few decades, Singaporean government did make a special effort to preserve some of the old architecture of the Chinatown. Niu Che Shui hawker centre is still serving the same variety of the traditional Chinese and Malay food which can be dated back to the beginning of the original Chinatown.
