Musée D’Orsay
Across River Seine from Musée du Louvre and Jardins des Tuileries, you may find the museum, Musée D’Orsay, which was, originally, a Beaux-Arts railway station, Gare d’Orsay, till 1939. In December, 1986, the museum was officially opened by François Mitterrand, the president of France at the time.
Though Musée D’Orsay is smaller museum, in comparison with Musée du Louvre, it has a great collection of masterpieces, mostly French art in paintings, sculptures and photography, in the world. These masterpieces were done by the world renowned painters and sculptors, including Van Gogh, Monet, Seurat, Signac, Bonnard, Rodin, Maillol, Coutan and Cavelier.
Among all the museums in Paris, Musée d\\\'Orsay and Musée du Louvre are my favourites. I always make time to visit these two museums every time I visit Paris.
Note: First Sunday of each month, Musée d\\\'Orsay is open to the public for free.
