Château de Versailles (Palace of Versailles)
Situated 20km southwest of Paris, Château de Versailles was originally Louis XIII’s hunting lodge and was made the royal court and political centre of France in 1682 when Louis XIV moved his palace to Versailles from Paris. It remained to be the political centre of France till 1789 when the French Revolution broke out.
Though Versailles is outside Paris, it can be easily accessed via RER Line C. You should definitely make a day trip to see the Château. I am quite sure you want to be a king, after you have seen the place.
