Public Toilet in Paris

Paris does provide free public toilets for its tourists and locals to use. There are basically two types of public toilet, the auto-cleaning toilet and the toilet with cleaning staff.
Free auto-cleaning public toilets can be found in many areas in the city of Paris. They, usually, are very clean and well maintained. After every usage, the auto-cleaning toilet would perform a washing cycle before the next person is allowed to use it. You should only enter the facility when the green indicator light is on.

Though many of the city run toilets with cleaning staff are supposed to be free for public, some the cleaning staff would take advantage of the situation and would ask the tourists to pay them for using the facilities. Make sure you check the sign at the entrance before you pay anything to the attendants.
