Piazzale Michelangelo (Michelangelo Square)
Built on the hillside, Piazzale Michelangelo provides a magnificent panoramic view of Firenz for its tourist. From this square, tourists may overlook the entire Firenze city. It is a must-to-see view for all tourists.
In honouring the great sculptor Michelangelo, the square has replicas of some of Michelangelo’s works, including a bronze copy of his marble masterpiece David (the original can be found in Accademia Gallery). This monument was erected in 1873.
Direction: You may reach Piazzale Michelangelo by walking up the Poggi Ramps. The ramp begins from the Piazza Giuseppe Poggi and ends at the Michelangelo square. It is a very nice and easy walk.
