Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família
The Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família, Sagrada Família in short, is a large Roman Catholic church in Barcelona, designed by the famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí(1852-1926). The construction of Sagrada Família started in 1882. Antoni Gaudí took over the project in 1883 and he devoted the last years of his life, before he died in 1926, to the project. The construction was interrupted by the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) and restarted in 1950s. The Basilica is still under construction and is expected to be completed in 2026.
