Hiking in Huanglong Park

Huanglong provides gondola service to those visitors that do not want to climb up the stairs to the Five Colour Pool. Other than the gondola service, there is no transportation in the Park. The gondola would take visitors to the top of the Park. From there visitors need to walk 2 km, approximately, to reach Huanglong’s Five Colours Pool, which is the main attraction of the Park. After seeing the Pool, visitors may choose to walk back to the gondola station and take gondola back to Park entrance. No matter which option you decide to choose, taking the gondola for the entire trip, taking the gondola up and walking down to the Park entrance, or climbing up the stairs all the way to Five Colours Pool and walking back down to the Park entrance, you need 4 hrs to complete your journey. My recommendations are:

1. If you are in good physical condition, you should walk up to the Five Colours Pool and walk back down to the Park entrance. This way

1. If you are in good physical condition, you should walk up to the Five Colours Pool and walk back down to the Park entrance. This way you would be able to see other attractions of the Park, not just the Five Colours Pool. One more hint, don’t spend too much time on the other attractions of the Park, till you reach Five Colours Pool. This is the highlight of the entire park. If time allows, you may spend little bit more time on the other attractions on your way down.

2. If you don’t think you can take up the challenge to walk up all the way to the Five Colours Pool, you should take the gondola up, walk to the Five Colour Pool and walk down to the Park entrance. Though the time required is about the same, you would have a much easy walk and you may still see the entire park.
