Beautiful trail, lovely scenes, no car traffics, easy bike ride..... Combining good exercise and fun in one event. Highly recommend this bike trail to everyone!

Biking Trail Shatin – Tai Po

If you enjoy riding bicycles, you should go to Shatin – Tai Po Biking Trail. This is a “bike only” trail, you may have fun riding your bike and not to worry about sharing the road with any car. You may either bring your own bike or rent a bike at one of the Bike Kiosks at the Park. Once get on the designated bike trail, you may ride all the way from Shatin Park to Tai Po Waterfront Park, a scenic trail of 12 Km. Starting from the Shatin Park, you will be riding on a scenic trail, along the Shing Mun River and Tolo Harbour, passing Shatin Racecourse, Ma On Shan, Chinese University and the Hong Kong Science Park before you hit the Taipo Waterfront Park. Along the trail, there are couple nice bars & restaurants, Ron’s Kitchen and Tom’s Bar & Grill at Science Park, bikers may take their refreshment, or drink, breaks there.

Right next to the Shatin Park, there is a huge shopping mall, New Town Plaza, connecting Shatin Central Park and the Shatin MTR Station. With many brand name shops and nice restaurants, New Town Plaze provides great shopping and dining experience to its visitors. Great shopping, Great dining and Great biking exercise on a scenic countryside, not to forget about the “Bar Hopping”, what a perfect combination for fun?

Bike Rental Fee:

Monday – Friday: HKD60 per day.
Saturday – Sunday: HKD80 per day.
Drop off charge: HKD10. Plus drop off charge HKD10 (if you choose to drop off the bike at Tai Po)

Helpful tips:
1. If you don’t want to use the bike for the whole day, you may negotiate with the shop for lower fee.
2. You may also hire a bike the Bike Kiosks at Tai Po Waterfront Park and drop it off at Shatin Central Park.

Direction to Shatin Central Bike Kiosks:
1. Take MTR to Shatin Station
2. Go, thru the New Town Plaza, toward the Shatin Park at the Shing Mun River
3. Follow the blue signs for the bike kiosks
New Town Plaza, right next to the Shatin Park, is a huge shopping mall with many brand name shops and nice restaurants.
