Trg Republike Hrvatske (Republic of Croatia Square)
Trg Republike Hrvatske (Republic of Croatia Square) is one of the main squares in Zagreb. This square was formerly known as Trg maršala Tita (Marshal Tito Square), named after the former Yugoslavian dictator Josip Broz Tito, during the period of 1946-2017.
In the square you would find the sculpture St. George Killing the Dragon, which was done in Vienna in 1853 by a German-Austrian sculptor Anton Dominik Fernkorn (1813 –1878). In 1867, the sculpture was bought and moved to Maksimir Park. It was not till 1907 the sculpture was relocated to its current location.
