Chiesa dei Santi Maria e Donato

Originally built in the seventh century, the Church of Santa Maria e San Donato is one of the oldest church in Venice. It is said the relics of St. Donatus of Arezzo are being kept in this church.

Behind the church altar, you will find four huge rib bones, each is over a meter long, hung by wires. According to legend, these bones belonged to the dragon slain by St. Donatus.
