Indonesia, a Southeast Asian country, made up with more than 17,000 islands, is surrounded by Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Australia, Papua New Guinea and East Timor. The country was Dutch colony till 1945. Though Indonesia is mainly a Muslim country, historically there were other religions, i.e. Buddhism and Hinduism practices in the country. Religious monuments and architectures for Buddhism and Hinduism can be found in the cities of Borobudur and Prambanan respectively. Being an equatorial country, Indonesia has basically one season, “Summer”. As the country has so many islands, nice beaches can be found throughout the country. Beaches in Bali are among the best in the country. Indonesia is a country with lots of volcanoes, i.e. more than 150 active volcanoes. This unique geographic feature, together with its warm climate, beautiful beaches and several historic sites, Indonesia attracts many tourists from countries around the world.
